“Training for New Beginning”: at CMS, training drives real change

A hands-on training and development program involving four manufacturing plants, over a hundred people, and more than 2,600 hours of collaborative work – turning a period of transition into a driver of innovation and operational growth.

Starting in 2024, CMS made a clear choice: to invest in people, across all locations and functions. Supported by Fondimpresa and developed with Virvelle Srl, the project brought together 140 team members – from production to quality control – led by Anna Cerrato (Continuous Improvement & Compliance Manager) and a team of academic and professional training experts.

The goal was simple: give everyone practical tools to grow and adapt, with a focus on logistics, production management, quality control and process optimization.

By the end of the journey, the results were both tangible and, in many ways, unexpected. What began as a technical training initiative became a true process of collective growth: new ideas, better integration across teams, a stronger sense of individual skills, and greater trust in teamwork. There’s a shared feeling: we’ve built tomorrow’s competitiveness, going well beyond classroom hours or workshops.

From change to awareness: when training makes a difference

The program focused on four key areas – inventory management, smart logistics, production optimization, and quality improvement – mixing classroom sessions, hands-on workshops, and on-the-job coaching. The approach was practical: turn everyday operational challenges (like inventory or production tracking) into real opportunities for growth, with logistics, production, quality, and maintenance working together.

At the end, the results became part of CMS’s collective toolkit: digital dashboards for monitoring inventory, streamlined protocols for internal logistics, and real-time production tracking systems. These solutions came from teamwork and active participation at every level. The real value? A shared sense of awareness, and a stronger capacity to innovate – together.
