CMS and the School-to-Work Continuum: Two Milestones Connecting Local Career Days and the University of Salerno

From vocational schools to university partnerships, CMS is deeply engaged in talent development—strengthening the link between industry and community, and driving progress in its home district.

In spring 2025, CMS took part in three complementary initiatives: the Job Day@School event, organized by the Regional Employment Center of Campania, the Job in Campus career day at the University of Salerno, and Università e Territorio, a roundtable promoted by the Department of Economics and Statistics at the same university.

Two different settings – secondary schools and the academic environment – but a single goal: building bridges between education and industry. This is a mission that CMS both recognizes and shares, contributing its own experience to the growth of the local industrial ecosystem.

In the first case, CMS joined a day of introductory interviews and workshops at a leading technical institute in the province of Avellino (Southern Italy). It was a valuable opportunity to listen to young people, share a real-world perspective on industrial work, and highlight the importance of technical skills – a resource often underestimated in traditional education paths

In the second initiative, CMS joined hundreds of local companies – small, medium, and large – at a Career Orientation Day for university students and graduates. The CMS delegation was led by Anna Cerrato, together with General Manager Dario Poltronieri and Sales Assistan Francesca Ferro. This event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with top talent from the University of Salerno and to further strengthen the bridge between the company and the university community.

In the third initiative, CMS’s participation at the University of Salerno brought something extra to the table. Representing the company were Anna Cerrato and Carmine Coppola, both UNISA alumni who are now fully integrated into the organization in leadership roles – positions in which CMS has invested from their very first internships. This return to their academic roots added genuine value to the discussion with professors and students, and fostered an even more authentic exchange in a setting focused on building the future. Because at CMS, as one of our mottos says, “Chi vale vola (se vuole)” – Talent rises, when it chooses to.

Technical training and skills: CMS’s commitment to the school-to-work transition

For CMS, joining these initiatives is not just a formality, but an act of consistency with our way of doing business – rooted, open, responsible. Supporting young people as they move from school to the workplace means building a solid industrial culture: accessible, recognizable, and built on technical skills and relationships, practical expertise, and a sense of place.

Because developing highly qualified mechanical talent – capable of designing and manufacturing complex components for advanced industries – is more than just a business need. It’s a real contribution to the competitiveness of the Italian manufacturing sector, which measures itself against global standards every day, and maintains its reputation for excellence thanks to these very skills.

At CMS, this vision becomes concrete: many of our current leaders joined the company through internships or technical training programs – guided, supported, and encouraged to grow within the organization. Building talent in-house, rather than hiring people already trained elsewhere, is a core part of our industrial identity and our long-term approach.
